📜 Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Chareta Zone platform at charetazone.com ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Platform. Chareta Zone reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use Chareta Zone. By registering, you represent that you are legally capable of entering into binding contracts under Ethiopian law. We reserve the right to verify your identity and refuse service to anyone for any reason.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and all activities that occur under your account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Not share your account with third parties
• Use only one account per person (duplicate accounts will be suspended)

Chareta Zone reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

4. Bidding Rules

All bids placed on Chareta Zone are legally binding contracts. By placing a bid, you agree to purchase the item at your bid price if you are the winning bidder.

• Bids cannot be retracted once placed
• The Lowest & Unique bid at auction close wins the auction (the bid must be unique — not tied with any other bidder — and be the lowest among all unique bids)
• Winning bidders must complete payment within 48 hours
• Failure to pay will result in account suspension and potential legal action
• Shill bidding (artificially inflating prices) is strictly prohibited
• A nominal Bid Service Fee applies per bid. The winner pays their winning lowest unique bid amount at checkout.

5. Payments & Wallet

All transactions on Chareta Zone are conducted in Ethiopian Birr (ETB) through our secure wallet system powered by Chapa payment gateway.

• Wallet top-ups are processed instantly via Chapa or Telebirr
• Withdrawal requests are processed instantly and automatically.
• Chareta Zone is not responsible for payment gateway outages beyond our control
• Fraudulent transactions will be reported to Ethiopian financial authorities

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree NOT to:

• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to manipulate auction outcomes
• Harass or threaten other users or staff
• Upload false or misleading item descriptions (sellers)
• Use automated bots or scripts to place bids
• Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or exploit the platform

7. Limitation of Liability

Chareta Zone provides the platform as a marketplace and is not a party to transactions between buyers and sellers. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chareta Zone shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.

Our total liability to you for any claims shall not exceed the total amount of fees you have paid to Chareta Zone in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at any time, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms or for any other reason we deem appropriate. Upon termination, your wallet balance will be refunded minus any outstanding fees.
